Assurance Statement now available in the New Portal
Public, Nonpublic
Assurance Statement is a new application in the New Portal, replacing 3 collections that were in Legacy (Rule 10 Assurance Statement, Rule 10 Nonpublic Assurance Statement and Rule 14 Assurance Statement).
All accredited and approved school systems are required to complete an Annual Assurance Statement. Completion of the Assurance Statement meets compliance with Rule 10 and Rule 14 regulations, allowing for the self-reporting of unmet regulations for the 2026-2027 school year:
NAC 92, Chapter 10, Section 003.07 Assurance Statement. Each school system shall, by November 1 of each year, submit to the Department an Assurance Statement, as prescribed by the Department, signed by a representative of the school system’s governing body affirming compliance or specifically noting any noncompliance with the regulations contained in this chapter.
NAC 92 Chapter 14 004.01F Assurance Statement. Each school or school system shall, by November 1 of each year, submit to the Department an Assurance Statement (see Appendix B), as prescribed by the Department, signed by a representative of the governing body affirming compliance or specifically noting any noncompliance with the regulations contained in this chapter.
The window to complete and submit the annual Assurance Statement is September 15 through November 1, 2026. The Assurance Statement must be approved (signed and stamped) before 11:59 p.m. on November 1, 2026.
Additionally,
- Public Districts – Only Superintendents can approve the Rule 10 Public Assurance Statement
- Nonpublic Schools – Only a person with an Administrative Certificate can approve the Rule 10 Nonpublic and Rule 14 Assurance Statement
Access:
- The following New Portal Roles automatically have access to the Assurance Statement application: District Admin, Proxy Admin, Superintendent-Nonpublic.
- To request access, log into the New Portal, go to Profile>Requests and request the “Assurance Statement-District” role. (District and Proxy Admins can also assign this access through their Admin Portal.)
- Nonpublic Schools: Because an Administrative Certificate is required to approve the Assurance Statement, some District Admin-Nonpublic staff may need to forward their Assurance Statement along to someone else for approval. The District Admin-Nonpublic staff will need to assign the approvers either the “Assurance Statement-Certificated Approver” or “Superintendent-Nonpublic” role.
Additional directions for completing the Assurance Statement can be found within the application.
